Qal´eh-ye-Now: Afghan trainers to teach professional skills to young policemen

Qal´eh-ye-Now (25 July). A 20-day basic course attended by 40 young Afghan policemen focusing on self-defence, police techniques, weapons, shooting, crowd control and first aid, was officially opened yesterday morning at Qal´eh-ye-Now´s police station.

2nd RC-W Development & Governance Working Group in Qual-Ye Now. July 29th

The second Development & Governance Working Group meeting will be held on next July 29th, at 09.00, in Spanish base in Qual-Ye Now, home of the Provincial Reconstruction Team in Badghis .

Aiming of this new meeting is to put together military and civilian agencies involved in development and governance within ISAF Regional Command West area of responsibility and local GIRoA representatives to synchronize projects, programs and initiatives. It will be mainly focused on Badghis province and its critical requirements.Ministries of Finance, Health, Education and Public Works representatives will attend the meeting. ISAF Regional Command West commits to security and development in Kushk-e-Kohnah

An important Shura, with more than 250 elders and village religious leaders was held in Kushk -e- Kohnah district, 130 kilometers north of Herat. The aim of the Shura was to discuss, with ISAF and Afghan National Security Forces officials, the district development plans and the problems that affect its execution, namely the lack of adequate security conditions.
