A new school in Herat province dedicated to the Italian soldiers died near Bala Murghab.
The Italian Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT) in Herat announced yesterday that the new school in Karokh, 40 km from Herat, will be named - once completed – after sergeant Massimiliano Ramadù and corporal Luigi Pascazio, the two Italian members of the “Taurinense” alpine brigade killed four days ago by the explosion of an improvised explosive device in the district of Bala Murghab, Badghis province.

Coalition forces treat Afghan civilian wounded in Taliban drive-by shooting
The Farah Forward Surgical Team (FST) and other coalition forces partners assisted in treating a 20-year-old Afghan male gunshot wound victim at Forward Operating Base (FOB) Farah, Afghanistan, May 18.The victim was wounded when Taliban forces opened fire while a group of Afghans were working outdoors in a drive-by shooting incident in Shewan village located in Farah Province. One other civilian was killed in the incident.The victim was medically evacuated by helicopter to FOB Farah. Immediate, life-saving surgical care was provided by the FST and Italian forces prior to being medically evacuated to Shindand for further treatment. “Our job is to take the treatments (from the battlefield) and make it more permanent,” said U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer Benjamin Hodges, senior enlisted leader, Farah FST, “We stabilized them to the best of our abilities before we transport them to conventional care. Once we get them to the point where they are stable enough for flight, we will push them out.”

Donation of 16 Ambulance to MOH of Badghis by AECID
The delivery of these vehicles happened in presence of Delbar Jan Arman Governor of Badghis Province, David Gervilla country director of Spanish Agency for International Cooperation (AECID), heads of start directorates and elders of Qala-Naw to the authorities of the Public Health Directorate.
In charge of Spanish Agency for International Cooperation (AECID), said” form the delivered vehicles, 6 mobile clinics will be allocated to the 6 districts.
The vehicles are well equipped with medical facilities to assist patients taken to the health clinics to the hospital¨

ISAF CASUALTIES
Today at 09.15, two ISAF service members died and two were injured as a consequence of an IED strike 25 kilometres southern Bala Morghab, in Badghis province.The casualties were immediately evacuated by ISAF helicopters and moved to the military hospital in Herat.The four ISAF soldiers were on board an armoured vehicle, as part of a military convoy that was moving from Herat to Bala Morghab.It is ISAF policy to defer identification procedures for casualties to the relevant national authorities.

در اثرانفجار يك ماين كنار جاده اي در غرب افغانستان چهار سرباز ايساف كشته و زخمي شده اند.سخنگوي آيساف در غرب افغاستان در تماس با تلوزيون سبا گفت اين رويداد در مربوطات ولسوالي بالامرغاب ولايت بادغيس زماني بوقوع پيوسته است كه يك تانك نفر بر ان فرماندهي با ماين كارگذاري شده از سوي طالبان برخورد كرده است.

Ghowr: ISAF Regional Command West supports the victims of floods
Over 2 tons of food, 200 blankets, 15 frame tents and ten pallets of clothes have been supplied by ISAF Regional Command West to the population of Ghowr, the province severely hit by the recent floods in western Afghanistan. According to a report of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, the floods caused the death of at least five persons and damaged more than 2,000 houses and an extended cultivated surface.In the previous days, the Lithuanian Provincial Reconstruction Team based in Chaghcharan had delivered to the local communities over four tons of food and other humanitarian aid, in close coordination with the Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority.
