Hundreds of Afghans medically treated by GIRoA Public Health Officials
Public Health Officers (PHO) from the Ministry of Public Health travelled to the village of Khorma Leq in Farah Province, Afghanistan, in order to conduct a Village Medical Outreach Program (VMOP) at the local health clinic, July 19.

PRT Qala-i-Naw Transfer of Authority ceremony
Qala-i-Naw, Afghanistan (July, 19th) – Today, in the Spanish Base “Ruy Gonzalez de Clavijo”, home of PRT Qala-i-Naw, took place the Transfer of Authority ceremony, between the incoming and outgoing Commanders of the Spanish troops deployed in Afghanistan. The ceremony was presided by the ISAF Regional Command West Commander, Brigadier General Claudo Berto and was attended by civilian and military representatives, as well as Badghis province governor Mr. Shinwari Delbar Jan Arman.

This morning, an Italian specialized unit in explosive disposal, belonging to Task Force Centre, was warned by the Afghan Police about a possible Improvised Explosive Device (IED) found under a Ring Road´s bridge, 6 km east from Shindand base, Herat province.

YOUNG NAZIFA RETURNS TO ITALY
Recently, young Nazifa Noor Ahmad, the child aged nine and born in Cha Bol Bol, a village around 80 km far from Herat, came back to Italy. She was cured of a severe form of Hodgkin´s disease in “S.Orsola-Malpighi” Hospital in Bologna, and for two years she underwent the treatment monitored by Italian Provincial Reconstruction Team in Herat. His return to Italy was necessary to be submitted to a series of medical examinations according to the protocol that she is following.
