Numbers of religious leaders, teachers, government employees, directors and members of different community development council of Badghis province have participated in the “Gender and Social Relations” awareness workshop, organized by AECID.

Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) officials said that “Gender definition, Recognition of men and women social rights, social problems and finding the right way for that “are issues, which are included on gender and social relations.

Mohammad Sadiq “otif” trainer of gender section of Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) said that this awareness workshop had been hold for 3 days and 35 religious leaders, teachers, government employees, directors and members of different community development council of Qale –Now and Abkamri district had participated.

Mohammad Sadiq “Otif” added that “Gender and social relations” workshop was the ninth program that Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) conducted based on Gender Section awareness program of this year.

Mr. Otif added that Gender Section of Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation “AECID” has to plan to conduct 12 more awareness workshop with different issues.

Otif pointed out that Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation “AECID” had started their awareness program and outreach project in 2008.

Women Affairs Department officials thanked the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) for its constant assistance and said that AECID had done different activities in different areas in regards to women, for the last three years.

Halima” Rahmima “Director of Badghis Women Affairs Department (DOWA) said that the participants of “Gender and Social Relations” workshop became familiar with a lot of issues concerning gender and social attitudes during last three days.

Madam Rahpima said that realization of this workshop issues create better understanding between men and women.

Rahpima also asked from all participants for sharing their learning’s with other people that couldn’t participate in this awareness workshop.

Director of Badghis DoWA said that implementing women projects had brought positive changes for Badghis women life and situation.
