Farah: 5 insurgents detained by ANSF and ISAF forces

An Afghan and coalition security force
detained five insurgents in a joint operation aimed at disrupting the insurgency network in Farah and Bala Boluk.

The operation lasted two days and led to the recovery of ten 107 mm rockets and of a huge number of IED components, including 6 kilos of homemade explosive, remote controls, wire and mobile phones.

"The operation was successfully planned and conducted in partnership with the  Afghan National Security Forces” said colonel Franco Federici, RC-W Task-Force South Commander. IEDs continue to be one of the worst threats for the Afghan people and we will carry on our commitment to target insurgents participating in production or emplacement of IEDs in the province of Farah."
