In the scope of the Quick Impact Projects program carried out by the Spanish Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT), a new floor of the Religious Affairs Centre was inaugurated in Qal´eh-ye Now.
The extension, requested by the Centre’s representatives and supported by the provincial Governor, will improve the living standards of the pilgrims who gather there from across the province before attending the annual draw of places for the pilgrimage to Mecca.
Mullahs throughout the province, the provincial Deputy Governor and other local and provincial authorities, as well as Spanish PRT representatives, attended the opening ceremony. During a brief speech the PRT Deputy Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Escamez, highlighted “the satisfaction of all military personnel for the work they are doing in support of the province population”.
