Liutenent General David Rodriguez, Commander of ISAF Joint Command (IJC) and General Besmallah Khan Mohammadi, Chief of Staff of the Afghan National Army visited today the provinces of Badghis and Ghor, in the area of operations of Regional Command West.
The delegation - along with Brigadier General Claudio Berto, Commander of Regional Command West and Colonel Massimo Biagini, Commander of Task Force North – visited the forward operational base “Columbus – Todd” in Bala Murghab. During the visit, the military authorities participated into a shura with local helders, who thanked the Afghan and ISAF forces for the security bubble created in the area that allowed the coming back of the population to their houses.
The second part of the delegation’s tour took place at the Lithuanian Provincial Reconstruction Team in Chaghcharan, Ghor province. Here the delegation was illustrated all the last projects completed and those in progress implemented by the Lithuanian civilian and military components of the PRT: schools, hospitals and donations.
