Nearly three hundred Afghan National Civil Order Police will soon join their units following a graduation ceremony at the Regional Training Centre of Herat. The Italian Carabinieri taught police skills as well as
tactical and patrol skills, including counter-IED procedures and anti-riots techniques, during the sixteen-week course
.



The Civil Order Police includes 4,000 policemen and features a high operational capacity and its forces are to be employed in sensitive areas of the country.


“The training provided covers a variety of aspects and is meant to increase operational capabilities and survivability”, said Lieutenant Colonel Michele Facciorusso, the head of Herat’s Speciality Training Team belonging to the NATO Training Mission Afghanistan.

Graduate Saed Qasim expressed his satisfaction for having passed the final exams: “I am proud to be part of an elite Corps. I could learn much during the 4-month course, thanks to the Afghan and ISAF’s trainers and I’m now looking forward to serving my country”.
