HERAT, Afghanistan (Mar. 13) – Today in the Forward Operational Base of Farah, at the presence of the Commander of Regional Command West - Brigadier General Alessandro VELTRI - the ceremony of transition Was held between Lieutenant Colonels Lawrence VASQUEZ and James Mann on the command of American-led Provincial Reconstruction Team.The ceremony was attended by the Governor of Farah province, Rohullah AMIN, The Commander of the 2nd Brigade of the Afghan National Army, General Akram SAMEH, the provincial Deputy Commander of Afghan National Police, Colonel Haji ESA, several other local authorities and elders.During his speech, Lieutenant Colonel VASQUEZ expressed its deepest appreciation for the excellent results achieved by men and women who have worked under his leadership and wished his successor to continue the work of reconstruction and development of the province, already effectively initiated during his tenure.General VELTRI, therefore, expressed satisfaction and gratitude for the great professionalism with which Lieutenant Colonel VASQUEZ led the Provincial Reconstruction Team, ensuring, even in critical time, the continued support to ISAF with appropriate and calibrated activities in reconstruction and development in the area.At the end of the brief but meaningful ceremony, General VELTRI and the new Commander James MANN met the Governor of Farah province and representatives of the Afghan National Security Forces with which they shared the good results registered in the province in terms of security, reconstruction
