The Italian Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT) continues to support Herat’s population through donations of electronic equipments for the development of the public administrations and of the society in the province.
At a regular meeting held by PRT’s representatives with local authorities in Herat province aimed to support governance, the PRT Commander, Colonel Emmanuel Aresu donated yesterday to mr. Abdul Rahim Karimi, chief of the Court of Appeals, a professional camera, worth about 4,000 Euros, to allow the court to be able to record the hearings, thus ensuring the proper and fair conduct of trials.
In a second meeting held at Camp Vianini, home to the PRT in Herat, Mr. Payman and Mr. Bahrooz responsible for the website Herat Bastan received from Colonel Aresu, two laptop computers and a camera kit with professional telephoto lenses with a total value of more than 3,000 Euros. The donation is part of some projects led by the CIMIC (Civil-Military Cooperation) component of the PRT, aimed to support the social and economic development in the province. The items donated will be used to optimize and facilitate the website’s publishing and to broaden their ability to retrieve and publish news and information about the city.
