Adraskan: 450 new Afghan Civil Order Police agents graduate from NATO Training Centre.

HERAT, Afghanistan (10 September) – After 14 weeks of training, 450 policemen graduated from Adraskan’s NATO Training Centre. The course comprised elements of Law, Shooting, Topography, Anti-riot and Check-point techniques, Counter-IED, Driving and Combat skills.

Graduates, coming from all Afghan provinces, will soon join the units of the Afghan Civil Order Police, the corps with ‘robust police’ features, similar to those of European Gendarmerie Corps.

Captain Alessandro Criscitiello, Italian Carabinieri’s Director of Training, declared that “the Graduates’ quality is increasing, thanks to the rich and diversified training that aims at building elite units that are going to operate in the most sensitive and demanding areas of Afghanistan”.

NATO trainers from Italy, USA and Poland are also being partnered by Afghan trainers, who will progressively take charge of the whole training process.

The graduation was dedicated to the memory of Ahmed Shah Massoud, the popular Afghan hero.
