Farah: 9th Mountain troops Regiment has donated sewing machines to the city´s female orphanage

 The Italian Task Force South Mountain Troops, based in Farah, delivered yesterday at the city´s female orphanage, eighteen  sewing machines, through which small orphans can take courses to learn a profession and build their own future.

The initiative was born from a Dr Jamila Amini´s request. Dr Amini is the head of “Movement for Aghan Women”. This organization is fighting to improve the Afghan women living conditions, in a Country where women have one of the highest illiteracy and marginalization levels.

The event was attended by Colonel Franco Federici – The Task Force South and 9th Regiment Commander- along with the provincial council representative and the responsible for Farah province orphanages and a representation of UNAMA.

"I thank the Commander of Task Force South," said the promoter of the initiative, Jamila Amini "for the specific attention paid to these children and their future. And I can state that the donated materials will be used immediately to create a sewing course for thirty girls of this institution. "

Colonel Federici, in his speech said that "any plan to build a better future for coming generations and especially for these girls, will always meet our cooperation”.
