Operations Coordination Center of Ghor province (OCC-P) strives for improvement

Gohr, Afghanistan (December 6) - Lithuanian-led Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT) together with Validation Transition Team (VTT-207) from IJC hosted a meeting with the commanding officers of Operations Coordination Center, Ghor province, on Camp Whiskey. After action review of validation was presented by VTT team for the representatives of ANSF.

VTT-207 led by team chief MAJ Eric Nylander (USA Army) supervised and assessed the OCCP’s activities. Working group consisting of five functional specialists evaluated different branches of local OCC-P staff. Intelligence, logistics, personnel, communication, training and education sectors were monitored.
The Validation Transition Team (VTT-207) from IJC has been assessing and validating the OCC-P of Ghor province for the last few days.
“Main purpose of our visit to OCCP of Ghor province was to assess and validate the operational effectiveness of ANSF and provide recommendations for further improvement,”- said VTT-207 team chief MAJ Eric Nylander.

“First impressions are that OCC-P is effective in meeting mission requirements as an operational and intelligence fusion center of Ghor province. Unity and motivation, timely analysis of intelligence and sharing information with the ANP units are the strongest points of this unit,”- MAJ Eric Nylander added.
Recommendations of this assessment will be addressed to Afghanistan Minister of Defence (MoD) and ISAF International Join Command (IJC).

Lithuanian led PRT has a close cooperation with local ANSF in bringing security for the Ghor province. Combined exercises and trainings are being implemented by PRT together with the OCC-P of Ghor province.
