ISAF medics treat Afghan stabbing victim

 ISAF medics from the Farah Forward Surgical Team treated a local Afghan citizen who was injured in Korgy village in the vicinity of Farah City during a stabbing attack Nov. 10.
In order to receive further surgical care from US medics, the victim was transferred from Farah City Hospital to Forward Operating Base Farah, where the FST medics performed life-saving surgery and stabilized the patient, who suffered from more than 15 stab wounds, a slashed throat and a punctured liver and abdomen.
Following hours of surgery, the patient was medically evacuated by a U.S. Air Force aircraft to Camp Dwyer in Helmand Province to undergo further intensive care.
