200 children benefit of a new school in Tajek

Badghis, Afghanistan (November 24) –Yesterday took place the cutting ribbon ceremony for the new school in the vicinity of Tajek, Moqur district, province o Badghis. 200 children will benefit of the new school which has 4 equipped classrooms, an equipped teacher’s office, toilets, surrounding wall and a system to protect from floods.
The project has been realized by the Spanish Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT) placed in Qal’ eh-ye now, with the supervision of the Spanish Civil-Military Co-Operation (CIMIC) team. The funds were provided by the Spanish Ministry of Defense. The delivery ceremony was chaired by the Moqur District Chief, Mr. Mohammad Shah Anzaleh, and the Spanish project coordinator chief Major. Sierra.
The International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) is committed with the development of the Afghan country through the education of the population. In the last year ISAF has used Commanders’ Emergency Response Program (CERP) funds to initiate more than 400 education projects throughout Afghanistan (on top of the approximately 1,600 education projects funded by CERP since 2003). Overall, these efforts, in conjunction with string support from the international community, have helped to increase school enrollment nationwide from 900,000 in 2001 to over 7 million in 2010 9including more than 2 ½ million girls).
